Support for Academic Integrity

The Library has created the following tutorials to support RDP students:

Academic Integrity Fundamentals Tutorial

The Academic Integrity Fundamentals Tutorial will foster an understanding of Academic Integrity at RDP. The tutorial is aligned with RDP’s Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy and Academic Misconduct Procedure.

Key features of the tutorial:

  • Comprehensive Content: Covers a wide range of topics, including plagiarism, inappropriate collaboration, exam and contract cheating, and misrepresentation.
  • Real-Life Scenarios: Includes real-life scenarios that challenge students to apply their knowledge in practical situations.
  • Self-Assessment: Students will have the opportunity to assess their understanding of academic integrity principles through quizzes and assessments integrated throughout the tutorial.
  • Accessibility: Accessible online, allowing students to complete it at their own pace.
  • Certificate of Completion: Includes a Final Quiz. If 80% or higher is achieved, a PDF “Certificate of Completion” will be generated. This certificate will include the student’s name, grade on the quiz, and date of completion. The tutorial may be assigned in courses, and students may submit their “Certificate of Completion” in Blackboard as proof of completion.

Instructors are invited to integrate the tutorial into their courses or recommend it as a supplementary resource: https://guides.rdpolytech.ca/academicintegrityfundamentals

Please contact your Subject Librarian if you have any questions about the tutorial.

Academic Integrity Remedial Tutorial

The Academic Integrity Remedial Tutorial is designed for students who have already committed their first offense of academic misconduct.

We recommend the following template to share with students:

The link to access the Academic Integrity tutorial is: https://rdc-ab.libwizard.com/f/academicintegrity

The tutorial will take approximately 60 minutes to complete. We recommend completing the tutorial on a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet; this tutorial will be difficult to complete on a smartphone.

Once the tutorial is completed, you may print or download a Certificate of Completion. The certificate will include your name and email, your grade, and a copy of your short-answer responses. You must achieve 100% on the tutorial before the certificate will appear.

After completing the tutorial, you must schedule an appointment with Katelynn Mills, the Academic Integrity Coordinator:
