The Research Common was established in 2016 by a group of dedicated faculty and staff who recognized the need for a more streamlined approach to research and scholarly support at Red Deer Polytechnic (then a college).
The Research Common serves as an inclusive resource center catering to faculty, staff, and students seeking guidance, connections and support across various stages of their research and scholarly activities.
Serving as a central hub, it facilitates the development of research literacy and competencies tailored to individual needs, while also providing strategic guidance on a variety of research materials to enhance clarity, quality and impact.
Acting as an incubator for new ideas, the Research Common fosters an environment where researchers can explore, experiment, and refine their work. It facilitates connections between like-minded individuals and other research service areas across RDP, empowering researchers to effectively navigate their projects.
The Research Common is one of a few areas that celebrates research achievements within and outside the RDP academic community and works across RDP to support the celebration of research across all programs.
