Red Deer Polytechnic Library's Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service provides access to resources not owned by RDP, for RDP students, faculty, and staff.

Red Deer Polytechnic Library participates in the lending of physical items and the electronic delivery of copies to other libraries and organizations.
We do not lend physical items outside of Canada.
Use the "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan" link in LibrarySearch, the library catalogue.

If the ILL link isn't available for an item in the library catalogue or in a database, submit your ILL request using this form:

ILL requests will take 1 to 3 weeks to arrive. Delivery dates are out of our control, and there are instances where we won't be able to fulfill some requests.
You'll receive an email to your RDP email when your interlibrary loan item is ready for pick-up at the Red Deer Polytechnic Library Desk.
When available from our partner libraries, an article or book chapter may be delivered directly to your RDP email inbox.
If we are unable to fulfill your interlibrary loan request, the Library will communicate with you via your your RDP email.
Interlibrary loan is not available to Community members through RDP Library. Community members should visit their local public library to learn about interlibrary loan options.

We are unable to lend physical items outside of Canada, including physical copies of articles or book chapters.
Other libraries and organizations in Canada may request items from Red Deer Polytechnic Library. Before requesting, review the fee schedule to ensure we will be able to supply the requested item.
Requesting libraries can submit ILL requests via a WorldShare Interlibrary Loan-compatible system. WorldShare Interlibrary Loan is compatible with a variety of interlibrary loan systems.
Libraries with a system that is not compatible with WorldShare Interlibrary Loan, or without an interlibrary loan system, can submit ILL requests using this form:

We will provide electronic copies of articles or chapters within the framework of the Copyright Act of Canada and as licensing agreements permit.
Red Deer Polytechnic Library may charge a fee for interlibrary loan.
The only method of payment at this time is OCLC's Interlibrary Loan Fee Management (IFM).
We cannot lend items or deliver copies to libraries outside Alberta that are not using OCLC's Interlibrary Loan Fee Management (IFM).
