        The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. By Michelle Hodkin

Having survived the collapse of an abandoned building that killed three of her friends Mara Dyer and her family move to Florida to help her heal. However Mara is plagued by nightmares  and hallucinations and begins to suspect that she might actually be a murderer. This paranormal mystery includes a romance, and several sub-plots that will allow readers to draw their own conclusions about what is real.

        Death Cloud: Sherlock Holmes, the Legend Begins.  By  Andrew Lane 

This action packed mystery follows a young Sherlock Homes who stumbles upon a body with covered with unusual swellings, soon after Sherlock and a couple of new friends are thrown into a conspiracy of chemicals, knives, and money.

        Blink  and Caution. By Tim Wynne-Jones

This edgy and suspenseful mystery follows two teenage runaways Blink  and Caution, who are struggling to survive in Toronto.  Blink  accidently observes a faked kidnapping of a wealthy CEO and he eventually becomes involved once he realizes the implications of the crime.

        Pretty little liars, By Sara Shepard

Three years ago, Alison disappeared. When each of the four girls begins receiving taunting messages from someone who seems to know everything about their past and present secrets. This is a fasted paced and high drama series that will certainly entertain.

        Gone Girl, By Gillian Flynn

When children's author Amy Dunne disappears, her husband Nick quickly becomes the prime suspect. While Nick claims his innocence, it becomes clear that he's not being entirely truthful. This is a bleak and fast-paced novel that inspired the movie by the same name.

        The Decagon House Murders, By Yukito Ayarsuji

Students from a university mystery club visit an island which was the site of a grisly multiple murder, then slowly the students get picked off one by one by an unknown murderer. This novel is credited with  restoring traditional murder mystery genre in Japan and continues to inspire modern day anime.
