An independent Canadian organization dedicated to helping First Nations communities achieve data sovereignty. FNIGC develops and administrates national First Nations survey initiatives and is also home to the First Nations Principles of Ownership, Control, Access and Possession (OCAP).

The First Nations principles of ownership, control, access, and possession – more commonly known as OCAP – assert that First Nations have control over data collection processes, and that they own and control how this information can be used.

FNIGC Data Online is an online service from the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC). This application provides unprecedented access to FNIGC’s published data in the form of charts, tables and graphs that can be exported for use in presentations, reports and academic papers.

Portal to Stats Canada data, analysis, and reference on Aboriginal peoples. The portal is part of Statistics Canada's Indigenous Statistical Capacity Development Initiative, and provides a central location on the agency's website where users can find links to data products about First Nations people, Métis and Inuit. Includes data on Indigenous communities, children and families, health and well-being, education, work and many other topics.
