Tips

Check How to Build a Citation to learn how to find and format individual elements of the citation.

Omit https:// with the URL; if a DOI is available, begin with https://doi.org.

If the author of the web page is the same as the website name, start with the section title.

"Article Name is in Quotation Marks" and the Title of the Overall Website is Italicized.

If there is no date, include an accessed date.

If an element is not present (e.g., other contributors), leave it out.

The file type will not impact the citation. To cite a PDF source, determine the type of source (e.g. website, book, article, etc.) and use the format for that source type.
