RDP Library: Open Educational Resources (OER): OER Strategy @ RDP

OER Champions' Group

At Red Deer Polytechnic, OER initiatives are developed and implemented by the OER Champions Group. This group was formed in 2019 as a joint endeavor between the Library, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), and the Students' Association (SA). In 2021, the group broadened its membership to include faculty representation.

The OER Champions Group aims to:

increase awareness of OER on campus
advocate for the adoption of OER in courses
increase faculty support around creating and integrating OER

Faculty Use of OER at Red Deer Polytechnic
The Library and the CTL jointly surveyed Red Deer Polytechnic faculty members to assess the awareness, perceptions, & use of OER at RDP. This report presents survey highlights, successful interventions and areas of growth, and recommendations to continue supporting OER at RDP.
Course Resources and Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Survey Report
The Library and the Students' Association (SA) jointly surveyed Red Deer Polytechnic students about the overall impact of textbook costs and student use and perceptions of the ZTC attribute in the 2022-2023 Timetable. This report presents survey highlights and recommendations to increase affordability for students at RDP.
