Students taking credit classes at Red Deer Polytechnic (i.e. all students EXCEPT those in the Division of Continuing Education and Corporate Training) will automatically have access to Blackboard from the first day of classes.
A link to Blackboard can be found under the Academic Quick Links card in MyRDP.
For Apprenticeship students, this link can be found under the Apprentice Quick Links card.
If MyRDP is unavailable, you can log in to Blackboard at https://rdpolytech.blackboard.com/
Click "Sign in with RDP credentials" and use your RDP email address and password.
Some classes offered by Continuing Education and Corporate Training use Blackboard. If your class requires Blackboard, log in here using your username and password.
For help, contact Continuing Education and Corporate Training: continuing.education@rdpolytech.ca | 403.356.4900

Blackboard recommends using the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. IF you want to check whether your browser is supported, do a Browser Check now!
It is recommended that you disable your browser's pop-up blocker for https://rdpolytech.blackboard.com/ and enable cookies in your browser settings.
Blackboard requires Java for optimal participation. Depending upon your course, you may need other plugins such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Flash, or Shockwave Player.
It is important to have a reliable Internet connection and enough bandwidth to watch videos and participate in classes.
How fast is your download speed? A free speed test is available at Fast.com. RDP recommends a 5.0 Mbps or higher Internet connection for online learning.
You should have a headset, or microphone and speakers. A webcam may also be useful.

Red Deer Polytechnic recognizes that our campus is situated on Treaty 7 land, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land where RDP sits. This is where we will strive to honour and transform our relationships with one another.
