Makerspace

The RDP Makerspace is located in Room 2006F, on the second floor of the Library. It is a place to learn through exploration, creation, and innovation. 

The Makerspace is home to a variety of high-tech and low-tech equipment including 3D printers, Cricut Explore Air (vinyl cutter), sewing machines, button maker, multimedia computers, and a soundproof studio equipped with a green screen. 

Knowledgeable staff are available to provide expert guidance.

Use of the RDP Makerspace and most of the equipment is free. Some equipment may require you to complete an orientation.

In order to access the RDP Makerspace and Makerspace equipment, you must be:

• A current RDP student, faculty, or staff;
• A community member with a valid RDP Library membership; or
• Part of a group pre-booked to access the Makerspace

Note: Those under the age of 18 years require permission from a parent/guardian/caregiver and must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Makerspace Code of Conduct

You are required to agree to the Makerspace Code of Conduct prior to using the space. 

Makerspace Studio

The Studio (2006F1) can be booked for up to 2 hours per day by RDP students, faculty, or staff. The Studio is equipped with a green screen and recording equipment for audio and video production.

Community members who wish to book the Studio can email makerspace@rdpolytech.ca; these bookings will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Bookings by RDP students, faculty, and staff will take priority over external bookings.
