Academic Support for Students

ESL Tutoring
The ESL Tutor focuses on building academic language proficiency for English language learners. Sessions may include a mix of grammar instruction, vocabulary development, and conversation/pronunciation. Students may receive support with course work including reading course material, determining what an assignment is asking, planning and writing an outline, revising and editing assignments, and preparing for presentations.
ESL tutoring sessions are available by appointment.
Learning Strategies
Learning strategies are ways to help students understand, remember and apply the knowledge they are receiving in your courses.
Small group instruction and individual appointments are available.
Math Learning Centre
A math tutor is available to help with math-related content in any RDP course.
Writing Skills Centre
With professional and peer tutors, the Writing Skills Centre offers one-to-one assistance with all aspects of academic writing. Tutors can show students how to outline their ideas, develop effective thesis statements, find and fix grammar errors, and more!
Note: The writing tutors will not proofread papers.
Writing tutors are available by appointment or drop-in.
Research & Citation
Subject librarians can help students with research and citation, as well as discuss best practices to maintain academic integrity. Subject librarians are available by appointment.

Academic Integrity

The library has created an Introduction to Academic Integrity guide to introduce students to the concepts of academic integrity, academic misconduct, plagiarism, and citation. Please contact your Subject Librarian if you would like to use this tutorial in conjunction with a Blackboard quiz.
