Academic Integrity Fundamentals Tutorial

The Academic Integrity Fundamentals Tutorial will foster an understanding of Academic Integrity at RDP. The tutorial is aligned with RDP’s Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy and Academic Misconduct Procedure.

Steps for avoiding misrepresentation

As an RDP student, you are expected to represent yourself with honesty and integrity.

To avoid misrepresentation, follow these steps:

  1. Write your own - and only your own - tests and exams
  2. Attend your own - and only your own - classes
  3. Only use authentic documents which have not been altered

1. Write your own - and only your own - tests and exams

It is important to only write your own tests and exams. Do not allow anyone else to write an exam under your name. Similarly, do not write an exam for anyone else.

If you are unable to write a scheduled test or exam (e.g., you are too sick or you have a family emergency), contact your instructor as soon as possible, before the exam. They will work with you to find an alternative solution.

2. Attend your own - and only your own - classes

It is important to attend your own classes. Do not ask someone else to go to class for you. Similarly, do not attend a class on behalf of anyone else.

If you are unable to attend a class, contact your instructor as soon as possible.

3. Only use authentic documents which have not been altered

Only use authentic documents which have not been altered. This includes:

  • Academic records (such as your transcript)
  • Medical documentation (such as a doctor's note)
