Academic Integrity Fundamentals Tutorial

The Academic Integrity Fundamentals Tutorial will foster an understanding of Academic Integrity at RDP. The tutorial is aligned with RDP’s Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy and Academic Misconduct Procedure.

Steps for avoiding inappropriate collaboration:

As an RDP student, you are encouraged to make friends and work together with your classmates and peers. However, you must ensure that you are working appropriately.

To avoid accidental inappropriate collaboration, follow these steps:

  1. Ask your instructor
  2. Assume most assignments are independent

1. Ask your instructor

Accidental inappropriate collaboration often occurs when you are not sure if you are allowed to work with your classmates. Some assignments must be completed individually and some assignments must be completed with a group.

If you are not sure whether an assignment is an individual assignment or a group assignment, you should ask your instructor for clarification.

2. Assume most assignments are independent

Unless your instructor has explicitly told you to work in a group, you should complete all your work by yourself. If you are not sure if you are allowed to work together, it is better to complete your assignments individually.
